Remember Me?

Okay… so I’ve been a bad blogger. I haven’t written in nearly a week and haven’t even responded to the dozen or so comments I had received in that time. Deal.

Last you all heard I was in Memphis for Father’s Day Weekend and enjoying the great food that was to be had at the BBQ competition. Well, I did all that and it was awesome. Pictures here.

Back on the employment front… I didn’t get that job I mentioned last time. They decided to go with a more ’seasoned’ candidate. Whatevs, it was for a charity and only two weeks long. Actually, that worked out for the best because another company called me in for an interview. Last Friday they made an offer, I accepted. I start this Thursday (pending the outcome of a background check). It’s a contract gig for 4-6 months but they’ve already shown interest in hiring me on full time if things go well. We’ll see. They’re located in Buckhead so I get to once again join the ranks of the commuters. What fun…

    Yeah, it’s not too bad … not exactly the job I was looking for but one I’m definitely looking forward to now. We’ll see how it goes. I really wonder how I’m going to like working ITP.

    Well done! I was out of work a few years ago for over a year and it was pure hell. The relief at getting a job again was almost worth it, and it meant I didn’t have to work in Norcross anymore! I’m much happier now than I ever was back then and at the time I thought that that was the perfect job.

    Hope it works out for you and that you go perm. You may even decide you like it ITP and move to civilization.

    Yeah, I was thinking about it today. I didn’t really like the company I was with and on the surface, this new company seems pretty cool. Even if I don’t go perm, doing contract work could be a lot of fun. We’ll see how it goes… as for moving ITP, I’m certain that will probably happen. I just have to figure out what to do with the house I have now.
