I doubt the Dems will even let the FairTax be introduced to the House for voting... personal opinion. I like Rudy, too and fell like he's probably the only candidate with a shot at beating Hillary. Unfortunately he doesn't support the FairTax.

I remember reading the Dems won't ever allow the Fair Tax unless they are in the majority and control the WH and can take credit for it. If that's true (and I suspect it is not) then that would be the only positive thing of a Hillary victory in '08.

Speaking of which, I don't think she would beat Rudy. Maybe Fred, maybe Knute, but not Rudy.

I'm not sure exactly. I kind of wondered the same thing. At one point she was going to have me come speak to her class on the FairTax but she warned that I would be introduced as a 'radical extremist' ... that makes me laugh. Point is, she was definitely establishing that the FairTax is only one side of the coin.

Maybe she made the 65,000+ pages of the current IRS tax code the counterpoint? ;-)

Interesting, did she also require a counterpoint to Fair Tax? Since FairTax isn't really an economic theory it seems like an odd book to require. Wealth of Nations, sure, but FairTax?

Awesome. I have a friend who is a teacher and she actually made The FairTax Book required reading for her economics class.

Since our school thinks it can force our students to stand for the pledge of allegiance, I think I will force my kids to pledge to the fair tax (and maybe read the book).

Nice job Dave...Tym and I were talking about the fair tax with our neighbors last night. In a nation of consumers (and overconsumers), it will be a great day when we are taxed based on what we consume, not what the government thinks they should take from our paychecks.

I can post a link on The Fountain if you want. Let me know.

Thanks TJ, that means a lot coming from someone anti-FairTax. I've been thinking about a way I could encourage people such as yourself to be part of the site as well ... I think it would be a great way to have some good debate. Of course, that would mean I would have to find a way to keep hostilities in check. If there has one thing I've learned about hot button issues such as the FairTax, emotions run very deep and it doesn't take long before people start flaming one another. That's not the intent of this site.

I hope you'll check back!
