Tabloid Football

I would like to vent a bit of frustration…. I was watching the Falcon’s game last night and couldn’t help but get pissed off at all the Vick coverage. Don’t get me wrong, I knew going into the game there was going to be a lot said about Vick but damn… this seemed like a 3 hour special on Vick with a little bit of football tossed in for levity. At one point the Falcons are making a drive during the field that results in a touchdown. Woohoo! Right? Nope, they had some dipshit blonde on the field with Mort Whatever-the-fuck-his-last-name-is talking about Vick. As a fan at home, you couldn’t even see the goddamn play.

Later on that dipshit blonde interviewed Vick’s replacement, Joey Harrington on the sidelines. Did she ask him anything sports related? Actually, yes… but only after letting the viewers at home know that she was not allowed to ask any Vick related questions to the players.

Fucking. Shit. I’m pissed. Hello ESPN, my TiVo guide says I’m watching NFL Preseason Football, not ESPN Tabloid Media coverage.

Now I know the Vick deal is huge news. But leave it as just that, news. Let football be football. I don’t want to hear how important the Saints are to all the Katrina “victims.” I don’t want to hear how happy Tom Brady is to be the father of a bastard child. And I sure as fuck don’t want to hear about Vick when he’s not even on the fucking team anymore! Leave that shit for ESPN News, SportsCenter, Entertainment Tonight or something… not the during actual game.

What’s worse is Vick’s sentencing is on the same day the Falcons play on Monday Night Football. I guess last night was the preseason training for those tabloid ESPN jockey’s. I wonder who looked best? Probably that dipshit blonde… dipshit blondes always win.

You know they planned the sentencing date on the night they are on MNF on purpose…how else will they get the highest level of media coverage possible?

It was quite annoying to hear THE SAME THING OVER AND OVER AGAIN…ok we get it.

And Bobby Petrino wants to shoot himself. Make no mistake about that. He cries for Louisville every night :)

If Petrino is crying himself to sleep at night, it’s for one reason and one reason only, Vick. I firmly believe Petrino likes the Falcon’s organization. If we start winning (long shot there, I know), the talk of Vick will hopefully subside… if we don’t win, this season will be a wash as Vick is all we’ll hear about up until his sentencing.

It sucks when you’re in preseason and you’re looking forward to next year’s season.

I’m not happy about Tom’s bastard child either…my fantasies….er…hopes are shattered.

You were right the first time, ‘fantasies’. ;-)

I’ve wanted them to keep Schabb over Vick for years and couldn’t be more pissed at them. This season will be a disaster.
