The Football Gods Hate Me

I shouldn’t go to football games. I can think of over a dozen football games I’ve gone to where the team I was cheering for ended up losing. I can only think of two games where “my” team won. The first was UCF at UGA 7 or 8 years ago… hardly a match up but even in that game UCF nearly beat Georgia. Lame. The second was the recent Falcons’ pre-season game against Baltimore. Pre-season games hardly count either.

After last night’s disappointing performance by the Jackets (in which I was at attendance), I’ve resolved that as much as I love going to games, from now on I’ll just stay home. I can’t guarantee that my teams will win just because I’m not there but at least I know they won’t lose because I’m there.

Damn it all to hell.

maybe it was the Fergie you were rocking out during tailgating that is at fault?

That wouldn’t explain all the other losses…

Given your track record…I guess you should have cheered for the Eagles yesterday. Still a good time.

P’body, that was the stance my ex-roomie and I took during the USC/UT National Championship Game. We “rooted” for USC and it worked, Texas won!

Jenn, there is when I go to a game. ;-)

Thanks for helping prove my point.

Just stay the hell out of Athens on any given Saturday…unless we’re playing Ga. Tech!

Is there any money involved? I mean, come on, Dave…Do you take into account that the teams you watch sucked at that particular time? Just sayin’…Go to a Pats game. That would be a true test this season.

By all means go to Athens, Knoxville, Nashville, Jacksonville, or Atlanta….. just please root for those “other” teams!
