bug.gd

Update: Apparently I’m not alone in my admiration for bug.gd as traffic from the Digg community has effectively shut down the site. I guess that’s a good and bad thing. Hopefully the guys will have it up and running soon. I’ve got error messages I need answers to!

It seems an early early early childhood friend of mine has hit the big time (or shortly will be) with a new website. The site seems to be designed for developers, techies, and pretty much any form of computer geek. The name is bug.gd and allows you to search a database chock full of resolutions to all sorts of error messages. We’ve all rummaged through the Web looking for answers to our pesky problems and sometimes we find them but sometimes we don’t. That’s where the beauty of bug.gd comes in. Since the chances are pretty great you’ll find a solution, or at least a work around, to your problem, bug.gd will email you 48 hours after your search asking you to let them know what you did. Your response will be kept on the system and available the next time someone searches for the same error. Pretty sharp, eh?

So go ahead check it out and if you don’t mind, Digg it, too.

Congrats to my bud and his friend for putting together what I suspect will become a staple site for anyone in the tech industry.

BTW, if it seems the content of this post has changed, it has. Deal with it.

No, apparently Diggers are pretty fond of the idea. Since they hadn’t initially intended on “going live” yet, all the hits from Digg have pretty much shut the system down. Hopefully they’ll get it resolved soon… I’ve been running into errors today I need resolved!

Thanks for taking the time to review bug.gd!
bug.gd now has a Firefox add-on that makes it even easier to use.

A lot of power users like this approach- tech support professionals especially (of course it’s still all free).
