Excuse me, is this thing on?
Not that I had been blogging regularly anyways, but to say posting has been lite of late is a major understatement. It’s not for a lack of material as it seems throughout the day I’m constantly seeing things that make me think, “hey, that would make for great blog fodder.” Alas, such fodder rarely matures into a post.
Fortunately, that should be changing in the next couple of weeks. As most of you know, I’ve been doing contract work for a company in Buckhead for the past few months. The work has been enjoyable/rewarding and I’ve been able pick up a few new skills. The people in the office, specifically my team, are a blast to work with and all know their shit. I’ve been under a strict deadline ever since I started which has forced me to work 60+ which translates in little time or desire to blog.
So where am I going with us? Last week was my first deadline and I met it (actually exceeded but no need to gloat). Afterwards, I was offered a full time position. Friday I accepted. Hopefully I’ll have more down time now but who knows? My next deadline is just around the corner. Regardless, I wanted to give an update on my work situation.
After getting dooced earlier in the year, I was worried a little concerned how the year would pan out for me. Now, I can safely say that getting fired was the best thing that happened to me. I love what I’m doing, I really enjoy my co-workers, and I’m getting paid even more than I was at the old job.
So thanks to everyone for the words of support earlier this year. Things are pretty awesome now.
