Best Damn (Football) Quote Ever
Not having gone to a college with a football team (yet) has distinct advantages. One, you can support any team you want when that team is doing well. Two, you have a free pass to make fun of every team out there without fear of recourse (because seriously, “At least my college has a team.” is lame).
Point is, I have a friend who is a South Carolina Gamecocks fan. I don’t know why. She’s dumb. Regardless, after a humiliating defeat at the hands of Vanderbilt this past weekend, I sent the following text message to her:
Seriously? Vandy? You lost to fucking Vandy? That’s hysterical!
To which she replied with the best (football) quote of year:
shut up! you’re gonna make me cry…besides vandy is not as bad as you think
Tell me that’s not the words of a disillusioned fan. In fact, wasn’t it the old ball coach who was quoted, after his win over UGA, saying something like, “It’s no surprise we beat Georgia, they couldn’t even beat Vandy last year.” (Couldn’t find the exact quote after an intense 10 seconds of searching).
Ahh, football season… is there any better time of the year?

It was TRULY embarassing to lose to Vandy last year, and damned-near as bad to ALMOST lose to them THIS year!
I’ll grant Amber a bit of leniency in that I do think Vandy is a team on the rise. However, when you’re ranked #7 in the country you should NOT lose to the SEC brain trust.
I know, being a Dawg I have little smack talk rights this year with the Cocks, but seriously…VANDY?!? DAMN!
At least there’s one thing we can ALL agree on…Florida SUCKS ASS!

I agree that Vandy is a program on the rise, as is Kentucky (who thought I would ever say that!?). While it is nice to have more reasons to defend the dominance and supremacy of the SEC conference, it would also be nice to know there are a couple of teams that I don’t have to have a heart attack watching the Dawgs play. Alas, those days seem to be over.
And all the Florida teams suck ass this year - there is a god

Yes, the ACC is not exactly a “powerhouse” conference. Crazy…I’m just looking forward to BC coming into the Burg tomorrow night and being reminded that they are still in fact BC. #2 my ass… Doug Flutie is going to cry.
